Philippines
Here are the four sugar milling company that are still in operation when I visited Negros Island of this country.
- Philippine-Hawaiian Company = was established June 3, 1918. The millsite is located in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. The area is around 450,000 square meters.
- Victoria Mills = used bagasse as a fuel to the steam locomotives. A crew of three men is needed to operate the steam. A fireman, a second fireman to passed the bales of bagasse to the first fireman and a helper that will compile all the bagasse for the second fireman.
- Lopez Sugar Mill = is also located in Negros Occidental.
- La Carlota = is also located in Negros Occidental and uses steam locomotives still from the plantation to the mill site.
